Busy Day in Holliston

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!!!

Tom's morning started OUT okay.....he got this personalized mousepad!

But it quickly went downhill when he looked out the front door for a path to the street so he could take the dogs for a walk.

But, shovel in hand, he made pretty quick work of it.

However, while returning from his walk with the dogs, he was discouraged to find that he could barely SEE the 3 cars parked in the driveway.

Tom harnessed that special power one possesses on one's birthday and forged ahead!

Where am I during all this you ask?  Please, this day is not ABOUT me, it's about Tom.

Really, It's just as well. . .

This weekend I was SUPPOSED to be celebrating with my good friends in Boston.  

We booked 3 rooms in the Back Bay Hotel - a really cool boutique hotel housed in an old Boston Police Station.

 

As we were celebrating a couple birthdays, I went the extra mile to make sure that everything was JUST SO when they got to Boston.

What we didn't count on all those many weeks ago when we planned the weekend was:

Okay, so I learned early this morning that the flight out of NY was cancelled, the Long Islanders won't be coming, the weekend is off.  Originally, I'll be honest, I was disappointed.  

But as I have had HOURS socked away in the house to think about it, I tried to find that ever elusive silver lining.  I mean, there is no reason why I can't have fun RIGHT HERE IN HOLLISTON.  

I mean, Boston probably wasn't going to be that much fun anyway. . . 

Really, it's just as well....

Buster and Ringo turned 7 on January 23rd and 24th, respectively.

We cooked a meatloaf in their honor.

On January 4th, Tom and I were in the car and this bit came on NPR - This American Life.  We were totally amused.

It totally validated my belief that all that New Year/New You self-improvement hype is just that, hype.  Have ever had one of those moments where you wonder - Do I have a higher calling?  no, you don't.  Have you asked yourself have I reached my full potential?  yes, you have.

Anyway, in keeping with my erratic blogging efforts I thought it was apropos that I should start off 2013 on February 2nd, with that clip.
