Below is a photo of the box of mushrooms after about 4 days. It was required that Tom remove the pre-packaged plastic container from the box and submerge it in water for 24 hours. Then, put the plastic container back in the box and.....wait..................that's right, just wait..........
This is the photo from this morning:

This is a fairly sophisticated project. As I mentioned, Tom already had to submerge the package for 24 hours - WAY TO GO TOM! The work doesn't end there. He is now responsible for keeping these mushrooms moist. Luckily, the scientists that put this together had the foresight to include the mister, shown below.
We'll keep you appraised of how things progress.
I saw a unicorn misting the mushrooms this morning. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteAfter you ate them I assume...
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that the humidity thing looks like more fun than the mushrooms, to me. At least it doesn't take four days before it does anything.
ReplyDeletePerhaps Holliston in the winter is a bit more desperate than I had anticipated.
PERHAPS?! PERHAPS HOLLISTON IS MORE DESPERATE THAN YOU ANTICIPATED?! And you think this is a winter thing? You Californians have such a rosy outlook, its sweet really.
ReplyDeleteJust to give you an idea:
Maeve takes the bus back to NYC on Saturday. Tomorrow night is Maeve's last night in Holliston. It has really been great to have her home. AND, 1 week from tomorrow is Maeve's 19th birthday! We will miss her :-) We want to share this special occasion with her before she leaves.
Tomorrow night we will be dining at The Cheesecake Factory in Framingham, in the Natick Mall, to celebrate.
nuff said.
